The 2007 CR-V has received 5-star frontal and 5-star side-impact crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has recognized the Honda CR-V as a 2007 "Top Safety Pick." The award was based on several extensive tests, including a frontal-offset test, side-impact and rear-impact test. In addition, each winner was required to have electronic stability control available as either standard equipment or as an option.
